Thursday, May 14th, 2020

4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

(Registration will close at noon on Wed., May 13th &

Webinar Link will be e-mailed in the p.m.)

This webinar explores the ethical dilemma that social workers and other school-based mental health professionals face between providing continuing service to students and feeling like a novice when it comes to doing so via electronic communication. It identifies the psychosocial effects of a quarantine on students and their families, and provides ethical guidance as professionals meet their responsibilities to clients, colleagues, and society.

Learning Goals:

1.  Participants will learn how the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic provided positive lessons for the current health crisis.

2.  Participants will learn the psychological and social effects of major disasters on students and families.

3.  Participants will learn the three characteristics regarding the standard of care in emergency situations.
